Momma Mia!! It's twins!

Ohhhhh.. Sofie had her little puppies last night
(August 20) I was up at Heidi's for about an hour and Kelly and Patty came to visit. I asked them to come back down to our house and tell me how many puppies they thought Sofie was going to have---SURPRISE!!when we got here Sofie had half way delivered one of the little puppies.... I was sooo thankful that Kelly and Patty were here to help ... I was a nervous wreck.. Sofie was calm and just acted like she knew what she was doing... She delivered a little boy about 8:30 and then about 10:30 she had a little girl (and when I say little.. i mean little---they are just tiny.. kind of scary..) Then about
5 minutes later she delivered another little girl puppy but it was born dead... so sad!....she licked and licked the little puppy and Kelly thought about giving it mouth to mouth............but there was no hope.. it was gone before it was even born........it took a little while for the little puppies to figure out where to get the milk.. but finally they figured it out and all is well... Sofie is worn right out......and so are Kelly and I.. :)

Happy Birthday Heather!!

Heather came home on Tuesday to bring some banners she had made
for the Oneida County Fair and Rodeo..and also put up a vinyl sign on
a silo down by Plymouth. So we celebrated her birthday a little early

with you and let you know how much we love you!












Casey came up with Heather in her new hummerYowza!! --How fun is that!..we all love it and wish we had one too!(she spoils her self --but good for Heather --she always gets what she wants! she works hard and deserves it)

Sofie is getting ready to be a Mama :)

Sofie will be having puppies in a couple of weeks (around August 19-21) She is getting miserable and having a hard time getting comfortable.... ohhhhhhhh.. ...wish her luck.. and be sure to check back in a couple of weeks for baby news and pics! :D.............uggghhhh.. i am nervous!

Horse Kick.Ewwwwwwwweee!

YIKES!.. You don't want to get kicked by a horse... especially a Mama Horse who has a colt.. Don was putting the gelding in the same pasture with the Mom Horse and her baby.. The Mom wanted to show the other horse who was boss..whoops.. She kicked at the gelding but missed and got Don instead!...........Good Don didn't have his gun with him..
and Yes.. it hurts every bit as bad as it looks!..

Summer School at Boise

I had to study hard during Summer Appraisal School (for my job!) in Boise.. Heidi and her little family came and spent the week up there with me. They loved the pool at the motel and Heidi had fun taking them all over Boise while I was in Class.. (Check out her blog for more pics of their fun time!) Even Sofie went with us.. we had to pay a little extra for her to stay at the motel-- but she thoroughly enjoyed motel life :) she was a good girl and always went potty outside in the designated area!

Is he a Grullo?

So the little Colt-"Spirit" is growing up and looks like maybe he could be a Grullo.. What's a grullo you ask? It is just the rarest color of horse there is..we thought he was going to be a buckskin like his mother --but he is turning a different color..a lighter gray color and that would make him a grullo.. hmmmm..interesting

Good thing they were more interested in mowing the lawn instead of eating the tomaters!

New Home for Tucker( Mr. Biscuit) and Smoky

Well, it looks like Tucker and Smoky have been sold to a new owner (Monica) in Salt Lake City
She calls Tucker "Mr. Biscuit" and just loves him. Monica enjoys Smoky too because he is slower and more trustworthy.. and so she decided to buy them both (she actually has a friend who will probably end up buying Smoky) Their new home is a Boarding Stable in the middle of SLC...I call it a horse prison.. but they actually seem to be happy there. They live in a 10 x 10 cement stall and are fed a couple of pats of hay twice a day and lots of treats. Monica rides them four times a week.. and they get washed and brushed and pampered every day. Smoky rode in the Days of 47 Horse parade in Ogden last week.. and did very well.
Good Luck in your new home Smoky and Tucker.. we will miss you ...(except we won't miss Smoky chewing on the fence posts! )
